A Blue-Green Deployment is a release strategy that utilizes two identical physical or logical production environments:
- Blue Fleet (Active): Currently handles

The Zero-Downtime Cutover Workflow:

- Atomic Switchover: The central router (AWS ALB target group, Route53 CNAME, Envoy route, or Kubernetes Service selector) flips its routing pointer from Blue to Green in milliseconds.
- Zero Partial Deployment States: Unlike rolling updates (where old and new pods serve traffic concurrently for 10 minutes), Blue-Green delivers an atomic cutover.
- Idle Standby: The Blue fleet remains running in the background as an idle standby for 1–24 hours.
